Celon is owned 74% by ZNZ Pharma 2 limited, London which is backed by CDC group, the UK’s publicly owned impact investor, Developmental Partners International (DPI) through its ADP III fund and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Balance 26% is owned predominantly by the promoters.
HOCINE SIDI-SAID
Chairman
Hocine is the Chairman of Celon Laboratories. He is a seasoned pharmaceutical and private equity executive with significant emerging markets experience spanning 30 years across big pharma, biopharmaceutical companies, and health care services. He has advised private equity firms and sovereign wealth funds or vehicles on healthcare strategy and investments. Hocine spent 17 years with Pfizer in senior management roles in Middle East, in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia. He has held Managing Directors’ positions in Indonesia, Denmark and India. He was also on the board of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals between 2009 and 2014. He is the founder of Bio-nAbler LLC, an alternative investment manager focused on life sciences.
Hocine has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schiller International University and has attended the Harvard Business School senior leadership programs in 1996 and 2001.
NAGESH KUMAR MIDDEY
Managing Director
Nagesh is the Managing Director of Celon Laboratories. He is a visionary strategist with over 25 years’ experience across management, finance and techno-commercial roles. He was previously associated with major pharma companies in India like Shantha Biotechnics Limited, Indian Immunologicals Limited and Aurobindo Pharma Limited. He joined Celon a decade back as a Vice President – Finance and was selected to become a CEO in 2018. He was re-designated as the Managing Director in Feb, 2021. Nagesh orchestrated the turnaround of the Company from a loss making to a self sustained enterprise between 2012 and 2014 with his business acumen and leadership skills.
Nagesh holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from the Osmania University and is a member of the Cost and Management Accountants of India.
ALHADI ALWAZIR
Director
Alhadi is a Director of Celon Laboratories. He graduated in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1991 and is an MBA from the Georgetown University, Washington DC (1995).
Alhadi was a recipient of the Aerospace Department Academic Achievement, the Robert M. Rivello Scholarship, and the Summer Senior Scholarship Awards in the field of Composite Structures. He has worked for STX Hughes at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre. He was associated with Société Générale’s derivatives and financial products group as a financial engineer, and with Eastgate Capital Group as an equity partner focused on infrastructure and life science related investments. He is an active early stage investor in several technology and life science companies.
